Issue: You encounter this error when attempting to clone a Bosch EDC17 ECU, and the checksum validation fails.

Solution
  • To clone a BOSCH EDC17 ECU, you must first copy the sector 0x14000-0x1FFFF from the new (donor) file to the old (original) file.
  • Next, navigate to the end of the file and copy the last 16 bytes from the new file to the old one.
  • Finally, program the modified old file by selecting both Write file and Write EEPROM options.
