Errors
7F-31-73
This error occurs when the ECU password has been modified, blocking standard programming access.
View Solution →Unknow definition logger
A protocol mismatch or module state issue where the logging definition is not recognized by the software.

7F-31-73
Method: BENCH
Issue: The user is unable to proceed with programming because the internal security password of the control unit has been changed.
- Verify if you have access to the original backup (Full Read) of the ECU before the password was changed.
- If a backup exists, our team can attempt a manual password extraction.
- Contact our technical support to submit your backup file for analysis.
To understand more
The TC1796 TriCore processor uses a specific security password to manage memory access. If this password is overwritten or modified by third-party tools, the bFlash protocol in Bench mode cannot authenticate the connection, resulting in error 7F-31-73.
Unknow definition logger
Method: LOG
Issue: The data logging function fails to start because the system cannot identify the specific software definition currently active in the ECU.
- Stop the current operation and turn off the ignition.
- Exit the vehicle and lock the car completely.
- Wait for at least 5 minutes to allow all electronic modules (including the Gateway and ECU) to enter sleep mode.
- Unlock the car, turn the ignition back on, and try the LOG function again.
To understand more
This error typically occurs when the ECU or bus communication is in a busy state or hasn't correctly initialized the diagnostic session. Performing a full power cycle by letting the car sleep forces a reset of the communication buffers, allowing the logger to correctly identify the ECU's definition.
